Rare footage from the frontline as Ukrainian troops battle with Russian troops near Kyiv

The Ukrainian military has released recent footage said to show soldiers in combat with Russian troops in the village of Moschun, northwest of Kyiv.

In video released on Sunday, Ukrainian soldiers are firing mortar missiles and preparing a drone, while aerial images showed damage in the village near the town of Hostomel.

Reuters was able to verify the location of aerial footage to Moshchun and the Irpin River close by. It was not able to verify the ground shots or establish on what date the footage was filmed.

U.S. satellite firm Maxar said images on Friday (March 11) showed multiple homes and buildings on fire and widespread damage in Moschun.
