Murter is an island close to the Croatian coast of the Adriatic. It is located at the very heart of Dalmatia and is the biggest island in the well-indented Šibenik archipelago. The town of Murter is the biggest and oldest town on the island. The oldest part of the town of Murter, situated on a hill, features very well preserved authentic stone-vaulted streets and stone houses. Murter's lovely waterfront marina is more recently built and serves as the gateway to the Kornati Islands (famous Croatian national park).
