As he discusses pandemics, jab pusher Bill Gates smirks
Credit Instagram's @the_boyce_inside_my_head with this find. Jab pusher Bill Gates, speaking with his (now ex-)wife Melinda at his side during a June 2020 event [0], says with a smirk: "So we will have to prepare for the next one. That, you know I'd say, will get attention this time."
We wonder whether Melinda participated in conversations which she finds distasteful since she divorced Bill [1]. Her facial expressions here seem to indicate a cloaked joke between the two protagonists.
The quote from the clip is taken from this context:
"Bill Gates: This won't be the last pandemic that we face. Pandemics can come from natural causes, which is largely coming across from other species. A flu, for example, is still a very big risk. We'll have to invest in making sure that we catch the disease sooner and that we have platforms to make diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines very quickly.
Very little was invested, even though there were these calls by a lot of people, including our Foundation. One group that was funded, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), is helping out here. We're better off than if that hadn't happened.
People trust government to think through these things. This was a failure to get ready, and the cost would have been tiny compared to what we spend on being ready for war. We didn't actually do the simulation to think about nursing homes, getting factories ready, the testing regime. In fact, the testing was ramped up very quickly in a few countries that have almost avoided the epidemic entirely like Taiwan, New Zealand, and Australia. They took their experience, prepared, and moved a lot faster. We'll have to prepare for the next one. That will get attention this time."
The New Zealand and Australia experience with covid look a lot different now in March 2022. Not so rosy when you add in the civil unrest.
"People trust government to think through these things."
Do they?
"This won't be the last pandemic that we face. Pandemics can come from natural causes, which is largely coming across from other species."
When you think about it, the last significant pandemic prior to covid, occurred more than a century before. What makes Bill Gates so sure that this won't be "the last"?
Maybe it's the proliferation of biolabs, with attendant accidents?
Or maybe it is the wars over territories that just happen to house biolabs?
Maybe it is time instead to revisit the policy of biolab installation and bioengineering education.
What do you think, internet friends?
