Terry Rapoza on why Supervisor Mary Rickert should not be vice chair

Shasta County CA had a successful supervisor recall of Supervisor Leonard Moti. Before the recall election, Moti was appointed chair and Mary Rickert vice chair by a 3 - 2 vote. This was a deliberate move that denied Supervisor Les Baugh from being appointed Chair, which is understandable. This was all political and on the assumption that Moti would not be recalled, but he was. Supervisor Les Baugh was appointed chair in the prior meeting, and a few days were properly given to decide on Mary's position. Hence, since one of Mary’s votes to vice chair was eliminated, the new supervisor should have a vote. So it was only understandable that Mary would have to face another vote from the new board members.
