Weather Extreme 1999

The following is a weather documentary called Weather Extreme. It was done by WCNY, Public Broadcasting Company of Central New York Inc, in Syracuse, NY, in late 1998 and early 1999. It debuted 23 years ago on this date, March 15, 1999. At the time, this was done as part of a fundraising campaign that year. I would go on to actually work for WCNY 15 years later from 2014-2017 and worked with some of the same folks who did this documentary in 1999.

This video featured several prominent Meteorologists at the time, and I was blessed to be one of them. I appear at several points throughout the video with detailed commentary on different weather phenomenon. Oh my gosh my glasses were HORRIBLE! Even though it was literally half a lifetime ago for me, it was one of my notable achievements being a part of this.

You need some time to watch the whole thing. The video is just over 45 minutes long. It's in 4:3 SD (1999 remember?). But it is an amazing story about the weather of central and Upstate NY, the crazy climate there, and the amazing people that live there. If you want to know about my personal passion for weather, my personal love for the big snowstorms, and the impression the Boonville tornado made on me in 1983 (when I was 7), you'll see why in Weather Extreme.

Thank you for letting me share this video with you!
