Ukrainian Mom and Baby Die After Maternity Ward Bombed

The pregnant woman who was pulled out of the rubble of a maternity hospital after it was bombed in Ukraine has lost her life along with her baby. The photo of her being carried away on a stretcher became an iconic image, seen worldwide and representing the devastation that Russian President Vladimir Putin is inflicting on the sovereign nation. She was in labor when the missile struck the hospital in Mariupol. Almost thr ee million Ukrainians have now fled the country.
