Russian invaders are closing in on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, and the battle is expected to rage street to street. The Ukrainian resistance is defending their streets with a World War II-era anti-tank device called “steel hedgehogs,” which were deployed on the beaches of Normandy by Nazis on D-Day. Now the hedgehogs block city streets everywhere in Ukraine. In a heart-stopping moment, two Ukrainian soldiers defused an undetonated Russian bomb, carefully unscrewing the fuse as shells explode nearby.
