Professor Fired For Refusing Vaccine Mandate, Sues University – Dr. Aaron Kheriaty on Ask Dr. Drew

In early 2022, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, MD, sued UC Irvine after he was fired for not complying with their COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Dr. Kheriaty argues that after recovering from a COVID-19 infection in 2020, his natural immunity provides better protection than the available vaccines.

Dr. Aaron Kheriaty is currently Chief of Psychiatry & Ethics at Doc1 Health and Chief of Medical Ethics at The Unity Project. He is a Fellow and Director of the Program in Bioethics and American Democracy at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. He has consulted on Covid related ethical issues during the pandemic, such as ventilator triage and vaccine allocation, for the UC Office of the President, the County of Orange Healthcare Agency, and the California Department of Public Health.
