The A-10A Thunderbolt II is a ground-attack jet-powered aircraft designed by Republic Fairchild for the US military. The vehicle first took flight in 1972 and was introduced into service in 1976. Updated models remain in service today, despite multiple efforts to retire them from service over the decades.

The A-10A is 53 feet long, 17 feet tall, 57 foot wingspan and weighs in at 47,000 pounds. Two installed General Electric TF-34-GE-100 turbofans drive the A-10 to a maximum speed of 450 miles per hour. The A-10A was equipped with the GAU-8/A 30mm Gatling gun and up to 16,000 pounds of mixed ordnance. During Desert Storm, the AGM-65s infrared camera was used during night-missions as a quote "Poor Man's Forward-Looking Infrared".

In War Thunder, the A-10A will be coming in two models, an early Premium unit with lesser ordnance and a Late variant in the tech tree with the full loadout. As of the first dev server, the A-10A Premium was placed in Rank VI at BR 9.7.
