If children have questions about God, the beautiful creations around us, keeping safe or anything else that’s important to them, there’s now a fun way for them to engage and get answers.

CathCroc is a new, animated character created by the Diocese of Darwin to engage with children and answer their questions with the help of Bishop Charles Gauci https://youtu.be/xQDlciT27HM.

Parents, grandparents, teachers, guardians, or any other carers of children can email their children’s questions to AskCathCroc@gmail.com. Following this in a succinct video (on the Diocesan Digital Channels) the friendly animated character will acknowledge the children and request Bishop Charles Gauci to help answer them.

The choice of a crocodile as the character of CathCroc is deeply personal to the Northern Territory. Crocodiles are a large part of the Aboriginal culture, and the Northern Territory has the largest wild crocodile population in the world.

‘As a Church we have things old and new. There are perennial values that are forever coming to us from Jesus and the early Church. The Holy Spirit keeps on guiding us into a deeper understanding of these mysteries of our Faith’ said Bishop Charles Gauci, Bishop of Darwin and the Northern Territory.

‘Each generation needs to proclaim our Faith message in contemporary understanding for all ages.
Cathcroc is aimed at Children, the parents, guardians, and all other carers of Children.
We pray and trust in the Lord that this will be a useful tool in His hand in the proclamation of His Good News to all’ added Bishop Gauci.
