Golfer Phil Mickelson made an insane comment to justify his participation in a tournament in Saudi Arabia. Fellow golfer Rory McIlroy gave his very honest take on what he thought of Mickelson.

Emma: Phil Mickelson, you know, one of the greatest golfers of all time. I don't really follow golf that much though.
Matt: Yeah he was like a guy who was always up there like tiger woods. Like he's a guy who got to take second place to tiger when he was on his game.
and my dad follows golf really closely and so do I as a result. like Mickelson's also like a famous degenerate gambler and a tax cheat. so he's just kind of a seedy figure besides being a fantastic golfer.
Emma: He really looks like every wall street dude that you're gonna pass in New York City. and another seemingly his latest way to make money is. I did not even realize that so this is the PGA partnering with Saudi Arabia. he's doing he's promoting some tour in Saudi Arabia. and Rory McIlroy who's another very good golfer responded to this publicly and it was pretty jarring.
Matt: Yeah, let me just read the quote.
Emma: Okay first let's read the quote.
Matt: yeah so this is the quote from Mickelson which is just an all-timer we know they killed Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi and have a horrible record on human rights. they execute people over there for being gay he said. knowing all of this, why would I even consider it? because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reshape how the PGA tour operates.
Emma: Oh priorities! wait so okay how is it even a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity what Saudi Arabia wants to expand into rich people sports. and so they're doing a partnership with the PGA. And how they are gonna get paid.
Matt: I want to change how they operate and that means working with brutal dictatorships.
