I. Sanctifying the Lord - 1 Peter 3:15
A. To sanctify is to set someone apart as Holy and Sovereign
B. Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords
1. His rulership is resisted by those outside of Christ - Luke 19:14
2. By definition, a disciple is one who has submitted to Him as Lord - Luke 6:46

II. Always Be Ready - 1 Peter 3:15
A. Give a defense to everyone - Acts 22:1
1. Defense as if in a court of justice
2. A reasoned explanation of why you believe what you believe from General Revelation and Special Revelation
a. Man made in the Image of God - Genesis 1:26-27
b. Discerning truth about God from the Created Order - Romans 1:18-22
c. The evidence in the Bible that it is indeed the Word of God - fulfilled prophecy - 2 Peter 1:16
B. A reason for the hope
1. We have the hope of salvation personally - Romans 5:3-5
2. We have the hope of Christ’s Second Advent - Acts 1:10-11
3. No matter what happens around us we have hope - Psalm 46:1-3
C. With Meekness and the fear of the Lord
1. Humility is essential in sharing our faith with the lost
2. The fear of the Lord keeps our hearts and minds in proper perspective to spread the Good News
