2. Prices have gone up over 400% since last year.
3. With gas and fertilizer shortages and price we can expect more then 40% smaller harvest. 4. China bought 1.3 million metric tons versus 500 thousand metric tons a few years earlier. 5. Japan, South Korea, UAE and Saudi Arabia have also increased their imports exponentially.
6. USDA Hay stocks as of December 1st, 2021, was at 79 million tons which is down 15 million from years earlier. 2004 inventory was almost 120 million.
7. USDA’s Crop Production Annual Summary stated that there is 3% fewer hay acers this year compared to last year and anticipates this trend to continue.
