The Americans Final Scenes - U2 With Or Without You

Not too often, there comes along a series that has an impact on one's own perception of life as did, The Americans.

A family of four, cloaked for sixteen years in secrecy as Soviet spies all comes to a sad end when they are discovered by their best and only true friend who is also an FBI counterterrorism agent.

Under disguise, they hastily make a run for the Canadian border to evade the dragnet setup up by the FBI and they eventually make it onto mother Russia.

They leave behind their son whose care they entrust to their FBI friend. Their daughter whom they have been grooming to be a spy may have come to her senses as we see here.

It's a sad ending and it teaches us what the consequences of putting everything ahead of the family can be.
