Sen. Cruz Calls Out Daily Beast For Portraying Trucker Convoy as "Feverish", Violent Criminals

On Tuesday, March 8th, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson hosted a meeting + press conference with The People's Convoy to discuss the harmful effects of COVID vaccine mandates and emergency powers.

A reporter from the Daily Beast posed a slanted question about the truckers "feverishly" circling the DC beltway, a statement that got a rise from the senators, truckers, and supporters in the room. Sen Cruz. defends the truckers in a heated statement:

"The media desperately wants to portray people exercising first amendment rights and speaking out as 'feverish', as 'violent criminals'. They're not violent." He continues, "There's nothing feverish about speaking out for freedom, and the corporate media doesn't want people to hear that. They want to paint these guys as a bunch of loons because they want to make decisions for their own lives, and their own family. There is a fever in Washington, but it's a fever of authoritarian politicians trying to strip away people's rights."
