The Hippopotamus Power Animal

Welcome to the world of power animals. My name is Tony Scazzero and I started this website to find deeper meaning for life from the wisdom of our animal brothers and sisters. Today we’ll look at the hippopotamus.

Hippopotamus means water or river horse. They are amphibious herbivores that weigh up to 8,000 lbs. They have large square heads, wide mouths, long bodies, and short legs. Hippos can be found in rivers, lakes, and swamps in social herds of 20 to 100 cows and calves with a dominant male bull. They spend most of their time in calm waters or pools of slimy mud. Hippos can walk underwater while on land they have good running speed. They usually emerge at dusk to graze on grasses. The noisy hippo is one the most dangerous animals in the world due to their unpredictable nature. They may seem gentle and slow but are very aggressive when protecting their young or territory.

In general, hippopotamuses are practical, balanced, and grounded. Highly intuitive, they act on instinct without hesitation. Hippos follow routines and feel upset if any of these are disturbed. They have an innate ability to know what lies beneath the surface. Hippos know how to submerge themselves to make a strong connection with the healing realms of water.

The hippopotamus is a symbol of protection, will, and creativity. Call on their spirit when you need confidence and courage to speak out or to get something done. Visit our website for a free power animal reading and to connect with your power animal. https://www.poweranimals.info
