BRAND NEW 2023 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER | INTERIOR | EXTERIOR | DRIVING

DETAILS ABOUT THE CAR:
Here's the next-generation 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Family SUV. Checkout its features, safety system, interior and exterior design changes, updates, technology and other important details in this video.

Price: The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will have a starting price of roughly $27,000, including the vehicle’s destination fee. We expect the upcoming Outlander PHEV to begin about $10,000 higher, or $37,000 to start.

Fresh from a complete redesign last year, the breaking news for the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander compact SUV is the arrival of a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant.

We know right now that the Outlander PHEV will share the same sleek exterior and near-luxury cabin environment and continue to offer a (cozy) third row of seats in the back. That’s correct — you can have your electric-only SUV driving range and squeeze two small passengers in the rear-most seats, bringing total passenger capacity to seven.

The Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sorento are among the very few similarly-sized SUVs that provide a third row of seats. In the Tiguan, however, you’re limited to having them only in FWD format.

With an electric motor at the front and rear axle, the Outlander PHEV will come standard in all-wheel-drive (AWD) format and have an electric driving range in the region of 30 miles. More details will be coming soon, so watch this space.

As for the rest of the Outlander lineup, its recent makeover transformed this Mitsubishi SUV from being an also-ran compared to rivals like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 to a fresh and bold-looking choice in one of the car world’s hottest segments.

Having grown in length, width, and wheelbase, the new Outlander provides more cabin space than its outdated predecessor. The design of the dashboard and trim materials used throughout the interior is also a vast improvement from the previous model.

Based on the platform used in the current Nissan Rogue, the Outlander also shares the NNissan’s4-cylinder engine and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The 181 horsepower on tap is okay for everyday driving, so long as you don’t expect to rule the passing lane on every major highway.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Pricing:

We expect the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander to stick with a base price of around $27,000 for the entry-level version in front-wheel-drive format.

At the top of the range, an Outlander SEL fitted with all-wheel drive, and about every option rings in at about $36,000.

That’s close to the price we expect the upcoming Outlander PHEV to carry when it arrives in mid-to-late-2022.
