A new housing program to help more Black families break into the housing market has launched in Canada, starting with the Greater Toronto Area.

With the average ownership rate for Black households in Canada at about 40 per cent compared to the overall rate of 68 per cent, the shared equity initiative is aimed at countering systemic racism and helping more families find a home.

As Anne Gaviola reports, the initiative is the first of its kind in Canada and if it's successful it will expand to more parts of the country.
