1: Emerling-Gase Motorsports: Joey Gase Racing has taken on a new partner in Patrick Emerling, forming Emerling Gase Motorsports. The team will field the 35 as planned full time, with a second car running a partial schedule. Driver Shane Lee has been added to the lineup.

2: Drivers Depart Mike Harmon Racing: It was announced back in November/early December that Bayley Currey would be joining JD Motorsports full time in 2022, driving the 15 car. On January 7th, both MHR and Kyle Weatherman announced that they would be parting ways. This leaves both the 47 and 74 cars available.

3: SS-Green Light makes changes: SS-Greenlight announced that Joe Graf Jr. would be back, and that the team would form a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing.

4: News from Alpha Prime: Alpha Prime Racing (formerly Martins Motorsports) announced that the team's planned second car, the No. 45, will attempt the full schedule, along with the 44. Sage Karam, who ran part time for Jordan Anderson last year, would join the team for a partial schedule. Andy Lally, who was signed to run six races, asked for his contract with the team to be terminated. No reason was given why Lally wanted out.

5: Let's Go Brandon: After much turmoil surrounding the Lets Go Brandon Crypto sponsor, LGB Coin has doubled down in their partnership with Brandonbilt. LGB Coin has announced that even though their decals will not be allowed on the car, they will continue to financially back the 68, including endorsements and appearances.

6: And on a sad note, Fil Martocci, owner of the FILMAR Racing team, passed away at age 88. FILMAR fielded the No. 8 in Busch Grand National competition for Jeff Burton and Kenny Wallace, and the No. 81 in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series for Kenny Wallace. FILMAR closed following the departure of Kenny Wallace and sponsor Square D. Martocci also served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
