Afghan man says he faced bigotry at the Ukraine border

Months ago, Mir Safi and his family escaped Afghanistan, when the Taliban took control.

Now the Safi's are on the move again, escaping the war in Ukraine, and it hasn't been easy.

Safi spoke with Global News earlier this week, as his seven family members, including a newborn baby, slept on the floor of a Ukrainian school near the Polish border.

He says they were blocked from leaving Ukraine four times in the past week.

His claims are among many reports of non-Ukrainians facing discrimination while trying to leave, particularly visible minorities.
