265 – Rucking for Veterans

I met US Army Veteran Jason Ray through Alayna Madden (https://oscarmikeradio.com/257-semper-fi-designs/). Alayna told me Jason is putting on an 11 and 22 mile Ruck on Veterans Day. I thought that was a good way to celebrate our day and we got time to talk. Jason served in the U.S. Army and after getting out searched for something to help him and others with the transition.

He found that rucking (or humping in the Marine Corps) helped him in a way that prompted him to start Rucking for Veterans. Rucking for Veterans is focused on taking action to advocate for Veterans in the South Shore area of Massachusetts. Jason and his wife Genevieve were able to impact lives last year, and this year’s Ruck is looking to eclipse that with support for Mission 22 and Wild Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Program.

The 2nd Annual Veterans Day 22 Mile Ruck starts at 7:00 AM on November 11th, 2021 at The Pour Farm Tavern located at 780 Purchase St. New Bedford, MA. There is still time to get involved. Go to https://ruckingforveterans.com/events/ to learn more or donate. Thanks, Jason for talking with me!
