Terrifying sink hole/thermal water vent on the beach Gustsvus/Glacer Bay Alaska

The beach in this area has many thermal gas vents and deep up-pushing water vents. This is one if a few I found walking on the low tide beach. Terrifying prospect of falling into one of these holes and getting buried by loose sand and mud, or stepping on a large gas pocket under the sand that is held in place by precarious mud that gets dislodged by an unfortunate person walking around unaware of the dangers below. Low tide quick sand is no joke! And with the closest person a half mile away or so, the chances of surviving an encounter like that is very low.
