A ceiling exhaust fan in a bathroom minimizes humidity, improves air circulation, and provides an added sound barrier for privacy. Admittedly, there is a wide variety of exhaust fans including lighting, speakers, and even smart home virtual assistants these days, but in this video we’ll stick to the basics. Compared to most electrical installations, mounting a fan requires more attention to weight, ducting, and room size, but is electrically very similar. [] In Indianapolis, every ¾ or full bath is required to have an exhaust fan. ½ bathrooms are exempt only if they have 2 square feet of operable window. Check your local building code before catching yourself in a bind!
