Take a walk through the center of Čakovec, seat of Međimurje County - the northernmost, smallest and most densely populated Croatian county. Čakovec center is very well preserved with buildings dating from 18th century onward and 13th century castle known as The Zrinski Old Town (Stari grad Zrinskih) - named after the Croatian noble Zrinski family that ruled the area in the 16th century.
