2020 Baumgardner Farms FIRE!

September 07, 2020, at around 1:00 a.m., the Pearl Hill Fire started in 40+ m.p.h wind. That video is available here on my Rumble Account.

It went all the way to Almira before being stopped south. After that, the fire spread east and west.

Sometime in the afternoon, (09/07/2020), the fire came backwards (from normal wind direction) out of the east and burned to our southern border, where we had a fire break.

The fire moved into the Breaks, and then into Cold Springs Basin.

The next day, (09/08/2020) wind direction changed to out of the west, which blew the fire from Cold Springs Basin, directly at our house!

Here are some of the videos taken that day.

We were trying to stay calm.

When the Forest Service Fire Planes showed up, they circled our place instead of dropping water.

We found out later they had to wait for a Forest Dept. Supervisor to show up and authorize the Fire Planes to dump on private land, thus the delay.

Interesting to note that the Forest Dept. Supervisor arrived here in a Lear Jet, and flew over our pond at about 1,000 feet off the ground!

I froze the last frame of the video to show my Granddaughter, Emree, because her face told the story after the fire was put out and our house was saved!

The U. S. Forest Service save our place that day, and we are forever grateful for their work.
