About Ivete Sangalo 🎼😍

Ivete Maria Dias de Sangalo Cady, affectionately known as Ivete, was born in Juazeiro, in the interior of Bahia, on May 27, 1972. The youngest of 6 siblings, who since childhood showed a great affinity with music, doing imitations of the singer Clara Nunes. In Salvador, where she moved as a child, Ivete grew up in the midst of music, and, as a tomboy, she often skipped class to make music with her friends.

The kick-off was given when Ivete, replacing her sister Mônica, who sang in bars in Salvador, was so successful that her sister, very proud, would let her have some soup whenever she could. After that, she started to do shows in Juazeiro and other cities in the interior, already winning the attention of the public and scouts on duty.

It didn't take long and she was invited to participate in a Micareta in Bahia where she met producer Jonga Cunha, who offered her a spot as backing vocalist for the Bahian singer Lui Muritiba. His debut with his own band was in 1992, in a nightclub then existing in the lively and upscale neighborhood of Ondina, in Salvador. The show was a blast and earned him the CAYMMI Trophy award of the same year, in the revelation category.
