In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. In another large bowl, whisk together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food  coloring.

2 1/2 Cups Flour (All-Purpose)
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
½ Tsp. Baking Soda
½ Tsp. Salt
1 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
1 Cup Buttermilk
3 Eggs,
1 Tbsp. Red Food Coloring
1 Tbsp. White Distilled Vinegar
1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract

Buttercream Frosting:
2 Cups Confectioners' Sugar
2 Tbsp Buttermilk
8 Tbsp. Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup)
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
3 Drops Red Food Coloring
