Brown Eyed Girl Easy Strum Guitar Lesson for Beginners

Brown Eyed Girl Lyrics
Hey where did we go
Days when the rains came
Down in the hollow
Playin' a new game
Laughing and a running hey, hey
Skipping and a jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our hearts a thumpin' and you
My brown eyed girl
You're my brown eyed girl

Whatever happened
To Tuesday and so slow
Going down the old mine
With a transistor radio
Standing in the sunlight laughing
Hiding behind a rainbow's wall
Slipping and sliding
All along the water fall, with you
My brown eyed girl
You're my brown eyed girl

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
Just like that
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da, la te da

So hard to find my way
Now that I'm all on my own
I saw you just the other day
My how you have grown
Cast my memory back there, Lord
Sometime I'm overcome thinking 'bout
Making love in the green grass
Behind the stadium with you
My brown eyed girl
You're my brown eyed girl

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da (lying in the green grass)
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da (bit, bit, bit, bit, bit, bit)
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da (sha la la la la la)
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da

Van Morrison "Brown-Eyed Girl" Songfacts
"Brown Eyed Girl" is a song by Northern Irish singer and songwriter Van Morrison. "Brown-Eyed Girl" was written by Morrison and recorded in March 1967 for Bang Records owner and producer Bert Berns, it was released as a single in June of the same year on the Bang label, peaking at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Brown Eyed Girl" spent a total of 16 weeks on the chart.

Brown Eyed Girl featured features back-up vocals by the Sweet Inspirations and is considered to be Van Morrison's signature song.

After finishing his contract with Decca Records and the mid-1966 break-up of his band, Van Morrison returned to Belfast seeking a new recording company. When he received a call from Bang records owner Bert Berns, owner of Bang Records, he flew to New York City and hastily signed a contract (which biographer Clinton Heylin says probably still gives him sleepless nights). During a two-day recording session starting 28 March 1967, Van Morrison recorded eight songs intended to be used as four singles. The recording session for "Brown-Eyed Girl" took place at A & R Studios. "Brown Eyed Girl" was captured on the 22nd take on the first day. Of the musicians Berns had assembled, there were three guitarists – Eric Gale, Hugh McCracken, and Al Gorgoni – plus bassist Russ Savakus, pianist Paul Griffin and drummer Gary Chester. 'Brown-Eyed Girl" was released as a single in mid-June 1967.
