Hi DIYers. This is Sterling with Alarm Grid. Today we are going to answer a question from Frank in New Hampshire. Frank is wondering how to set the house id code on his L5100 LYNX Touch Wireless Alarm Control Panel.
Now for those that don't know, a house id code is used for certain devices, devices that need to get system status. The 5804BD or 5804BDB, the by directional key [fobs] because they can actually pole the panel for status. They use house id.
It's just a setting, it's a two digit number anywhere from 00 which would be no house id, or 31 can be the highest one. Basically for those sensors that use it so that they can know it's coming from this panel.
So the way to set it you go to Tools from the home screen. Let me cancel out on the home screen actually Tools is not there. You have to press More and then Tools the little icon here. You enter your installer code, so we have ours set to the default 4 1 2 and we are now on the installer code screen. And we want to click on program and then system type which is the top right selection system type.
Now on system type you have different options in here you have RF Jam, two-way voice, phone notification, remote phone, RF house code, and speaker panel. On this thing RF house code is the same thing as house id. Most Honeywell security systems it is actually called house id. For whatever reason with the L5100 they're now calling it the RF house code.
So enter it, you click RF House Code and again it's a two-digit number. Anything from 01 to 31, so we're going to set ours to 11. You want to clear the zero that's there. Set it to 11, click Done. You now see that in RF House Code, it shows it at 11 instead of the 00 that was there before.
So, we have a house id of 11 any 5800 wireless device that requires a house code, you will now match it using this house code. And you click Save. To finalize it, you can use the back arrow.
You want to allow the installer to reenter programming, you always want to click Yes. Back out to the home screen. That is how you set a house id.
Good luck to you, Frank. And if anyone else has questions for us please submit to FAQ@alarmgrid.com. We will answer this question on our website, and if we already had the question, we will send you the answer. And finally, if we like your question enough we might answer it in a video so stay tuned.
