Ham is a traditional southern meal. It's popular on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas,or anytime you have a crowd for supper.

Ham can be stored in the refrigerator for about a week and about four months in the freezer. If you vacuum seal it then it last at least twice as long and the flavor will be preserved.

You can use it to make ham sandwiches, ham and cheese omelets, ham casseroles, ham salad sandwich spreads, breakfast ham, ham biscuits, ham salad, etc...

Ingredients for ham:

1 - Spiral sliced (bone-in) smoked ham
2/3 - cup brown sugar
1/4 - teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 - cup pineapple juice
1/4 - cup apple cider
1 - cup more or less of Honey to taste

Ingredients for candied yams:

2 to 4 - Sweet potatoes
1 - cup brown sugar
1 - stick real butter

Cooking time approx. 4 hours for the ham and 1 1/2 hours for the yams, both at 350 degrees.

Don't forget to pick up some organic Pam cooking spray, aluminum foil and make sure the ham will fit in your pan before you begin.
