MRE sides are "ready to eat" and easy to prepare — no cooking is required. They are completely precooked, self-contained foods (military meals) that require NO REFRIGERATION and can be eaten cold, right out of the pouch (although for this side, we think it tastes better heated, typically with the Flameless Ration Heater available for purchase separately).
