3. Mountain Running
Running itself has tremendous health benefits but doing it up a steep incline is significantly better. Why is this? Well first off it’s much more intense then running flat but that’s a given, the 2nd fact is since your are running up hill it’s actually a lot less stressful on your joints as the distance downwards to the ground is less. You need to be careful what surfaces you run on and make sure you strengthen your ankles before you start doing these workouts.

2. Mountain Cycling
Just like running cycling up hills or mountains has massive health benefits. Make sure to get a low gear, crank up your cadence and spin to win. The true benefit to cycling is the low impact on your joints, allowing you to go harder, longer with less wear and tear. If you live in an area that doesn’t have any mountains or hills, find a parking garage that’s at least 5 stories and tackle that. No excuses!

1. Competitive Sports
Sports comes in number 1 on my list today for one simple reason.. competition. Playing a competitive sport often makes you forget any pain you are feeling while running, chasing, skating, etc. for the benefit of winning. This distraction often lets people pushing harder than other forms of exercise and keep going. Also typically playing a competitive sport lasts longer than a cardio session of the average person. Example if someone did 30 minutes or 1 hour of running, a soccer game usually lasts at least 1 to 2 hours.
