The United States and It’s Allies Place More Sanctions on Russia After It Invades Ukraine

The President of The United States announced more sanctions today and took questions. I won’t drag you through the questions but Biden was forced to admit that removal from the SWIFT banking systems was not part of the package because not all the European players are not on board with that action. These European countries include NATO countries like Germany and Italy and THAT is a big deal my friends. The Society for Worldwide Interbank Telecommunications (SWIFT) is a cooperative of financial institutions that acts as a secure messaging system to provide secure transaction activity information to its members and countries. Sanctioning Russia by kicking it out of SWIFT is THE sanction that will have an impact but its not going to happen so these sanction packages are two things, window dressing so Biden can say he’s responding, and revealing fractures in NATO and our European allies. That is not a good thing considering Mr Putin has already gone much farther than most analysts expected in his aggressive attack on Ukraine. If Russia attacks a NATO country a lot of people are going to die and WW3 might kick off. Pray for peace.
