Monkey Shows
The monkey show is basically what you’d expect to see a slave monkey doing. All actions are engaged with a strong tug on a rope that is around the monkey's neck. The monkeys ride a bicycle, play basketball, do push ups and sit up, spin a coconut with their feet and are commanded to do numerous poses for pictures. Here the monkey is holding this little umbrella and posing.

Elephant Shows
Next we have the elephant shows. Let me quote the Phuket Zoo’s website “Our elephants are very happy to demonstrate their skills to you and their enthusiasm is obvious” The only thing that is obvious when visiting the Phuket zoo is how depressed these poor enslaved elephants are. They are forced to do balancing acts, football or soccer games, dancing and races for their food. They are trained to come around asking for tips as well. The zoo claims the older elephants used to work for logging companies and doing tricks is a much easier life for them.

Crocodile Shows
The first thing you’d notice walking into the crocodile show in not the crocodiles but the smell of this area. The crocodile show pen has multiple crocodiles in shallow water that is full of feces, the crocs are constantly dominated by staff with a broom. This is a similar tactic used on baby elephants with chains on their legs. So much pain is caused by the chain, by the time an elephant grows full size they are too scary to break free even though a small chain won’t stop any elephant. These crocs fear the broom and back away once it comes close or touches them. During the crocodile show brave ahem.. Stupid staff will put their head between the jaws of an open croc’s mouth.

Aquarium
The aquarium at the Phuket Zoo has some stark differences in quality of life. Some of the smaller fish have more than enough room to live but some of the aquarium enclosures are far too small for many of these creatures. Look at this tortoise, it’s impossible of him or her to even turn around, the tortoise must spend all of life sitting in this one spot facing this one direction, it’s pitiful. Just looking at this makes you want to smash the glass and pull this tortoise out.

Bird Park
Some of the birds are chained pipes, platforms and perches, these birds are the ones that don’t need to be or don’t want to be at the zoo as they can hunt their own meal very easily on their own. Majestic birds of prey like hawk, eagles and vultures are chained by the ankles so tourists can take pictures of them all day.

Big Animals
The open pedestal tiger exhibits will completely shock you at first. Tigers are chained to pedestals in three different locations around the park, the park encourages you to sit with the tigers and take pictures with them for a price of course. You might wonder why the tigers don’t attack or eat humans, 2 reasons: 1 they are constantly fed so they don’t have the need to attack humans but since they are chained to their pedestal all day they have major psychological problems. Now to clarify the tigers do have a pen they go into at night time and the tigers are alternated on the pedestals.

Apes
Close to the monkey pen is this tiny cage with this unique monkey. This little guy was raised thinking this employee is his mother. He clings to the Phuket Zoo employees body all day.
