For the first time since 2016, Greg Biffle will be behind the wheel of a NASCAR Cup Series racecar, driving the no. 44 for NY Racing (Yes, "THAT" NY Racing). Biffle will attempt to qualify the no. 44 Grambling State University Chevrolet Camaro. The car was purchased from RCR, while the motor is from Hendrick. As the 44 does not have a charter, Biffle will either have to time his way in during Wednesday's qualifying session, be one of the 4 fastest open cars (currently slated to have 6 show up) and hope one of the two in front of him on speed races their way in on Thursday, or do it the hard way, and be the highest finishing open car in his Duel. NY Racing made their only attempt at the 500 back in 2015 with Reed Sorenson, where they barely made the big show.
