The Best Place to Install a Lyric Alarm System
In this video, Joe talks about where a user should install their Honeywell Lyric Controller Security System. Most users will place their system by their front door or primary access point for easy access. But if they want to protect their panel from intruders, they may hide it elsewhere in the home.
The Honeywell Lyric Controller is a wireless all-in-one (AIO) system that allows users to operate the system right from the control panel itself. This is not the case with older wired systems, which typically used an external keypad for operating the system. But with the Lyric being super easy to operate, the vast majority of users place the system right by their front doors for quick access as they leave and enter their homes.
Some users are afraid of leaving their Honeywell Lyric Systems right by their front door, due to the fact that it gives intruders easy access to potentially destroy the system. However, this fear is largely irrational, as the Lyric Controller features Advanced Protection Logic (APL). This means that even if an intruder breaks-in and destroys the system, it will still send out an alarm signal to alert the central station. The APL feature gives most users the peace of mind they need to just place their Lyric Systems near their front doors.
But if a user still feels uncomfortable leaving the system by their main entry point, there are other options available. For one, they could use a Honeywell LKP500 Keypad. This is a secondary wireless keypad for the Honeywell Lyric Controller. It offers limited functionality compared to the system itself, but it is still useful for basic arming and disarming functions. Some users will install this keypad near their main entryway instead of the Lyric System itself.
A user can also arm and disarm their Lyric System from their iOS or Android Phone using Total Connect 2.0. They can simply do this as they leave or enter their building. That way, they can conveniently hide the Lyric Controller in another area of the home, and still have an easy way to arm and disarm.
