In this video, Joe explains how to pair a 2GIG SP1 Keypad with a 2GIG GC3 Alarm System. The 2GIG SP1 is a touchscreen keypad designed exclusively for use with the 2GIG GC3 Panel. The most common method for pairing the keypad with the system is through a WIFI network, but an access point can be used.

The 2GIG SP1 is a robust and versatile keypad for the GC3 System. It provides a secondary on-site access point for the system if a user wants to control their GC3 System from a second location. The keypad can be used for arming and disarming, and it can perform various smart home automation functions. Just like the GC3 Panel itself, the 2GIG SP1 features a beautiful, full-color touchscreen display with a 800 x 480 resolution. The keypad also supports viewing system status, one touch arming, chimes, voice annunciations, a 5-day weather forecast and emergency buttons for police, fire and medical. To use the 2GIG SP1, the GC3 must be running firmware version 3.1.0.5572 or higher.

The most popular method for pairing the 2GIG SP1 with the 2GIG GC3 is through a WIFI network. Both devices must be connected with the same WIFI network to complete the pairing process. The user will need to access the Keypads Menu for the system using the panel's Installer Code in order to access the menu. Either a 2.4 GHz or a 5 GHz WIFI connection can be used for this purpose. If the area does not have a particularly strong WIFI connection, then a wireless Access Point (AP) can be used instead. But keep in mind that using AP mode for pairing will disable WIFI connectivity for the 2GIG GC3 System. If a user wants a similar keypad for the 2GIG, but they don't need the advanced home automation functions, they can consider the 2GIG SP2 Keypad instead.
