In this video, Jorge discusses the difference between Total Connect Comfort and Total Connect 2.0. Total Connect Comfort is an application for various Honeywell heating and cooling devices. Total Connect 2.0 is much more robust and allows for control across an entire security and automation network.

Both Total Connect Comfort (TCC) and Total Connect 2.0 (TC2) are smart automation platforms that provide you with convenient control over your smart devices. However, they differ in terms of which devices they support. TCC only controls certain Honeywell Thermostats, namely Honeywell Home Thermostats that communicate across WIFI. You will pair these devices to your local WIFI network using the TCC App. You will then use the TCC app for all nearly all of the control regarding the thermostats. This includes setting up smart scenes to have the thermostats operate automatically.

On the other hand, Total Connect 2.0 is considerably more robust. TC2 is primarily used to control a security system, as well as connected automation devices. Many systems that support TC2 will allows support various Z-Wave devices. This includes Z-Wave thermostats. With the right equipment, you can use TC2 with so much more than just a smart thermostat. You can also use it with your alarm system, your smart lights, you smart door locks, and so much more. You just need to make sure your automation devices are Z-Wave peripheral accessories that you can pair with TC2.

You cannot bring most TC2 devices to TCC. The TCC platform is just for the Honeywell Home Hearing and Cooling devices. However, TC2 does offer an integration that allows you control certain Honeywell Home devices from TC2. But keep in mind that you will not be able to use these integrated TCC devices with smart scenes on TC2. And Z-Wave devices and security systems not built for TCC will only be able to be operated locally and/or through TC2.
