In this video, Jorge from Alarm Grid provides an overview of which communicators are compatible with the Interlogix Simon XTi-5i Alarm System. The Simon XTi-5i uses the same communicators as the other Interlogix Simon Panels. You need an LTE communicator to activate the panel for use with Alarm.com.

Like all security systems, the Interlogix Simon XTi-5i needs an alarm monitoring communicator to send out signals when alarms and other important system events occur. The Simon XTi-5i uses its communicator to send signals to the Alarm.com Servers. Alarm.com will then forward these alerts to a central station monitoring station and/or the end user directly, depending on the user's alarm monitoring plan. Being able to send signals to a central station for automatic emergency dispatch is referred to as central station monitoring service. If the system is not set up for central station service, then the user is said to be self-monitored.

The most common communicators used with the Interlogix Simon XTi-5i are the Interlogix XT-511 Series Communicators. There are five (5) communicators in this lineup. These are the Alarm.com XT-511-US-AT (AT&T LTE), the Alarm.com XT-511-US-VZ (Verizon LTE), the Alarm.com XT-511-CA-TL (Telus LTE), the Alarm.com XT-511-US-DP-AT (AT&T LTE & IP), and the Alarm.com XT-511-US-DP-VZ (Verizon LTE & IP). Remember, Alarm.com requirements state that a system must be set up with cellular monitoring in order to connect with their servers.

There are also other communicators that can used with the Interlogix Simon XTi-5i System, most notably the Interlogix 600-1048 Series Communicators. But it is important to note that the Interlogix 600-1048 Series Communicators can only be used with the Interlogix Simon XTi-5i if the communicator has Firmware Version 191C or higher installed. The best way to determine the firmware version for an Interlogix 600-1048 Series Communicator is to have an alarm monitoring company check the IMEI number for the unit.
