In this video, Michael from Alarm Grid shows you how to include a Schlage Z-Wave Door Lock with the Honeywell Lyric Security System. Including a Z-Wave device may also be referred to as pairing. By pairing a Schlage Z-Wave Lock with your Lyric System, you will be able to control it directly from the panel, meaning that you can lock and unlock your door from the Lyric. If the system is monitored and set up with Total Connect 2.0, then you will also be able to control the lock from that platform. Total Connect 2.0 will also allow you to include the lock with smart scenes so that it activates automatically based on a set schedule or with certain predetermined system events.

Before attempting to pair a Schlage Z-Wave Lock, you should make sure to clear it from the network first. This is important for ensuring that all Z-Wave data within the lock has been wiped so that the lock can be paired successfully. A Schlage Z-Wave Lock will follow the same process for exclusion as it does for inclusion. The only difference is whether the Z-Wave hub, which in this case is the Lyric Panel, is in its inclusion mode or exclusion mode. In order to put a Schlage Lock in its inclusion/exclusion mode, you must enter the lock's unique programming code, followed by the [0] key. This will tell the lock to send an inclusion/exclusion signal to the Z-Wave controller, and the lock will be included or cleared based on whether the hub is in its inclusion or exclusion mode. Also, to find the unique programming code the Schlage Lock, you must open up the lock's cover and find the white sticker with that information. It is recommended that you write down the programming code and keep it somewhere safe so that way you do not need to open up the lock to access the programming code again later on.
