The Beatles-Getting Better drum cover

Hope you enjoy this video from behind the kit playing along to the Beatles song, “Getting Better.” This was played as close to the record as I heard it (with the exception of the bongo parts played on the toms during the bridge and ending).

A few notes about this song:

-During the verses, you can hear the hi-hat come down with the snare. Listening to it very closely, it sounds like Ringo is most likely using the pedal to play it than using a stick.

-During the second chorus, Ringo does a double-hit on the high hat. This is played on the word “get” during John’s line, “it can’t GET no worse.” This is ONLY played during the second chorus. He plays it straight through every other time.

-Ringo plays the bass drum consistently on the downbeats during the verses, but only on beats “1” and the “and of 3” during the choruses. He adds an extra bass note on the downbeat of “3” during on the words “so” and “all” when John and Paul are singing “getting SO much better ALL the time”.

I play “Ringo Starr” in the Beatles tribute band, American English! If you enjoyed this play-along video, feel free to subscribe so you get notified when more videos are uploaded! Thanks for watching!
