Badin, in southeastern Pakistan, is a region experiencing the brutal force of climate change. Changing rainfall patterns and land degradation, caused by sea intrusion, mean that for Badin’s 1.8 million people, accessing clean water and producing food is increasingly difficult.

Oxfam and our local partners have been working with the communities to improve the resilience of rural communities and government authorities in Badin, helping them prepare for, adapt to and mitigate climate and disaster risks. This includes providing communities with climate-smart agricultural training and alternative livelihood opportunities, particularly women, young people, and people with disabilities.

Oxfam is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (#ANCP).
