The Old Testament is replete with examples of individuals and events that are given as 'types' of the Church and 'types' of Christ. This is all done as part of the Messianic Promise that is fulfilled in Jesus in the New Testament.

As such, the Bible becomes a Christological (Christ-centered) book, always pointing to our Lord and Savior.
