No crank, no start, good battery, good starter, temporary remedy

On my 2000 Honda Civic I have been having problems with a no start, no crank issue and so I found out that my starter relay was good, as well as my (new) battery and (new) starter, the problem was the thinner wire on the starter solenoid is bad. I don’t know wether to make a new connection or try and see if the current wire can be saved after some brushing at the tip or something. Please let me know what you think in the comments, thanks.
