British forecasters have warned that the next few days will be "very difficult" due to two storms that are approaching the island - Dudley and Eunice. The weather bureau has even started using the #TwoStorms hashtag in its posts online.
Forecasters have issued a Yellow Warning for very strong and destructive winds that could cause widespread chaos, including a significant chance of power outages and disruption to traffic. It will be especially dangerous to be in coastal areas, which can be hit by storm waves.
The warning applies to a wide belt in the center of the UK, including northern and central England, most of Wales, and southern and central Scotland.
Storm Dudley produced wind gusts of up to 80-90 mph over the open coasts and hills of Scotland, with winds reaching 60-70 mph inland. And Storm Eunice will bring torrential rains and possible snowfalls on higher ground. Where snow falls, even snow storms are possible.
