This teleprompter, branded as 'Generic' on Amazon but bearing the name ILOKNZI , is priced at £99.99 and is dearer than the others I have tried and so hopefully should be better.

In the box are the pre-assembled folded teleprompter, a camera mounting screw, user guide and a carry case with shaped protective padding (don't lose it) and storage screen protector. The teleprompter is quite heavy and made from aluminium alloy with a 70/30 beam splitter glass screen. Build quality feels good, robust and hopefully built to last.

To assemble just pull the locking nut on the side and push forward the glass screen to the 45 degrees preset nd then release the nut to lock it in place. The camera mounting plate on the top has a slot into which the supplied screw can be pushed to allow the camera to be mounted. Mounting the camera can be a fiddly and awkward business and I fitted a third party quick release plate to make this easier. On the front of the unit is a lockable sliding platform for the tablet or other device which will work with screens up to 12" in size. On the underside are a range of standard sized screw holes to mount the whole assembly to a tripod. The teleprompter with a camera in place is quite heavy so you will need to use a decent quality camera tripod to support it.

In use it works well enough, I noticed a few screen reflections at first but got rid of them easily enough by adjusting my lighting. There is no shade around the front of the glass which may be the reason for the reflections and in the future I may experiment by adding a homemade hood. The large screen made positioning and using my 10" tablet a dream and reading from it simple enough.

This is a decent quality bare bones teleprompter, that should work with any size of camera, is simple to use and works well although a few corners have been cut to make the low asking price.
