Actaeon and Artemis: Vengeance of Vulnerability

When someone reveals our vulnerability, our feelings and actions can be less than kind. The story of Acteon and his gruesome end is such an example. This episode, we review the story and ask what we should do when we find ourselves unwittingly in the same position.

Please let me know what you think in the comments – is it understandable Artemis acted in the way she did? Did Acteon violate Artemis’ privacy and deserve his punishment? Are we guilty of punishing those who see behind our own persona? What’s your takeaway from the story?

The Gods are Alive explores mythologies and their modern equivalents. Monsters and Gods may or may not be fictional, but they are very much alive in some form or another today. And whatever be their driving force: love, hate, fear, jealousy, pride, humility… we cover it, learn from it, and hopefully, all be better for it.
