I’m Afraid I’m Doing Something Wrong and That’s Why I’m Single Help!

Question:

I’ve read much of your book, 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬: 𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 '𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 and it’s been invaluable to me.

I even quote certain things from it when my single girlfriends and I have frustrating conversations about meeting The One.

I’m 38 and recently had a talk with my father about if I was bringing anyone home for the holidays.

I said, “No, not this year, but maybe next year.”

He is a religious person and he advised that I pray about it and said he will pray with me on that.

Then he said I have to break the “curse” and not be like him and my mom (they have been divorced for 25 years and neither have remarried). I am an only child by the way.

My question is, “How can I stop feeling like I’m doing something wrong?”

I know I can’t control who I meet or when.

I also went through a break up last year with someone I dated for almost 3 years. I’m glad I walked away because I wasn’t happy, but I put a lot of time and effort into it and sometimes thinking of it still makes me sad.

Anyway, I would appreciate any words of advice you can offer.
