He’s Okay with a Long Distance Marriage. I’m Not!

Question:

I’ve dated an incredible man for nearly 1.5 years. I love this man, he loves me, and we want to get married.

The problem is, we are involved in a long-distance relationship that may never have a resolution..

We live in different cities and he has 50/50 custody of his four-year-old daughter.

I am a young widow with a 3-year-old and 6-year-old.

He has been married twice before. I married my high school sweetheart so I haven’t been through any kind of breakup.

He has even admitted to me that he had zero hesitations going into his previous marriages. I am more cautious, less optimistic, and more realistic in my assessment of our challenges.

We both recognize that the physical distance is an issue, but he doesn’t see it as an excluding factor to marriage. I do.

Is this a situation that can be overcome?
