Darla the Dogo Argentino's Spay Operation (with all the educational details) [GUWD#22]

Darla started her fifth heat on December 30th. Nothing appeared abnormal initially, but after 15 days her coat started developing a reddish undertone and scabby pimples were popping up on her chin, neck, and back. A behavior change was also present with Darla "presenting" herself to other dogs for 10 days straight (in a normal cycle, this behavior should not be present for more than 5 days)...Unfortunately, by day 30, Darla's skin condition had worsened AND she still appeared to be in heat. So much for the prospect of Dogo puppies...Darla was going to need an ovariohysterectomy aka spay.

This video details Darla's operation with some portions being sped up by 250%. Thanks again to Dr. Carla Hubbard and her head veterinary technician, Robyn, for always providing our dogs with the best veterinary care!
